For the DOT Day projects, we read/listened to The Dot by Peter. H. Reynolds and created our own dots. We took a coffee filter and created designs with crayons, oil pastels, and watercolors.

Extension Activity:  Collaborative Giant Dot Mural

Students work together to create a large-scale artwork inspired by The Dot. Tape a large sheet of paper to the wall or floor. Students can take turns adding dots using different colors and art tools (paint, markers, sponges, etc.) Then discuss how individual creativity comes together to form the larger artwork.
